This book is probably the best book I have ever read.
This fantasy story takes Mark to a planet called Tarlis. I thought this was a good book because: 1. It is a fantasy adventure book and I really like those kinds of books. and 2. And the characters are just great.

Turning the Tide Against the Indians
This book is an excellent example of how the proper use of tactics can change the tide of battle when all seems lost. This battle is studied today by tactitioners on the proper use of small unit tactics.Col.Henry Bouquet was truly a man ahead of his time, and he broke the siege of Ft.Pitt during Pontiac's uprising.I also recommend a trip to Bushy Run Battlefield.

Be My Guest
Published in Hardcover by Moody Publishers (January, 1980)
Author: Vivian Anderson, Hall
Average review score:

I've been reading and rereading this book for 20 years
I first bought this book as a young single christian who one day wanted to be married and have her own home and practice real hospitality as opposed to serving the finest dinners. Hospitality is about creating a place where relationships will florish - it is not about being a great cook (though that helps) or having a great table to eat from. This book has helped me to stay on course over the past 20 years. I thoroughly recommend it to both young and old.

Becoming Friends With God: A Devotional Invitation to Intimacy With God
Published in Paperback by Bethany House (October, 2001)
Author: Leith Anderson
Average review score:

A wonderful book that provides a clear relevant message
I was skeptical to read a spiritual book because I have found that a lot of them seem to preach and ramble on. But this book is different! It is clearly written with excellent real world examples. Leith Anderson truly opened my world to the messages that God has for us. He explains Bible passages and really helps pin point how they are relevant for today's world.

Before the Wilderness: Environmental Management by Native Californians (Ballena Press Anthropological Papers, No. 40)
Published in Hardcover by Ballena Pr (March, 1993)
Authors: Thomas C. Blackburn and Kat Anderson
Average review score:

enlightening book on indigenous land use
Many of us have been given the impression that the indigenous people of the Americas before white invasion lived wandering, nomadic lives of fierce hunting with little if any organized manipulation of their environment. This book corrects this impression with seasoned research. Indigenous California is one of the most culturally and linguistically diverse areas in the world. This work focuses on the ways the people of the region helped sustain the land's yield for their own uses. Henry T. Lewis's contribution focuses on controlled burn practices, though the subject is included in several entries from other researchers. Burns occurred in every environment, were seasonally timed, and helped maintain a varied-age, mosaic landscape. Peri and Patterson and Ortiz cover maintenance of plants for baskets. Helen McCarthy discusses oak maintenance. Philip J. Wilke reports on bow stave extraction from living junipers. Swezey and Heizer discuss management of anadramous fish and also agriculture among the Paiute of Owens Valley, which involved irrigation, planting of grasses, and burns. The editors have done an excellent job at selecting the entries. All are fascinating and enhance the reader's picture of the West Coast as it once was. This reader from Texas wishes enough info was available on his region to do a similar compilation. Combine this book with Leeann Hinton's Flutes of Fire for a more complete picture of the richness of West Coast culture and with Helena Norberg-Hodge's Ancient Futures for an understanding of how indigenous wisdom can be sustained to improve our current lives. Indigenous people still, in California as elsewhere, face continued repression and this book can give some idea of the worth of their cultures and the importance of supporting their struggles.

This book, like all the other Berenstain B. books, is GREAT!
Although I am already 10, I think that the Berenstain Bear Books are very good and fun to read. Also, they have a great value or moral to the story. The book reminds me of the problems and solutions to daily life. It is ann extremely good book. In the Berenstain Bears count their blessings, Sister and Brother Bear learn not to be selfish.

The Best of Everything: The Insider's Guide to Collecting--For Every Taste and Every Budget
Published in Hardcover by Simon & Schuster (November, 1989)
Authors: John Marion, Christopher Anderson, and Christopher P. Andersen
Average review score:

Buying antiques at auctions revealed in everyday language
John Marion has written a very readable account of how to buy affordable antiques at Sotheby's Auction House in new York. He takes you through the process of registering and bidding in a common sense way that takes the mystery out of the process. In addition, he makes a compelling argument that many of the objects you buy at a department store might better be purchased at a reputable auction house as investments which you can enjoy for years to come. The Best of Everything is a tresure in itself.

The Big Book of Bible Animals
Published in Hardcover by Tyndale Kids (February, 1900)
Authors: Jane Yorke, Grahame Corbett, Julie Downing, Peter Anderson, and Tyndale Kids

Another DK Classic
I originally bought this book for my 5 year old, but my 2 year old loves to look at the bright, high-quality photos of creatures from around the world. Each page features a different type of creature -- insects, farm animals, wild animals, and is more specific on a few pages, such as two pages devoted to the ten plagues of Egypt. The approach on this page was particularly sensitive to the young child, with no scary photos and an "edited" version what happened when the plagues were sent. The Big Book of Bible Animals is very thorough in it's coverage of nearly every type of creature we can think of -- snakes, fish, pets, working animals, etc. Especially appreciated by me are the two pages which discuss the importance of caring for our environment and the animals we share the world with. Watercolor illustraions lend a nice "handmade" touch to the photos, which could be a bit sterile on their own, with the white background. The illustrations don't compete with the photos, but complement them. All in all, a good book with a short text not overburdened with details, great photos and illustrations, and complete scripture references in the back for further study.
